Sustainably Grown
Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. This principle guides everything we do.
By selling flowers directly from our farm to you, we eliminate the long journeys flowers typically make to and from markets. We grow with the seasons, so we never need heating or artificial lights to force plants to bloom out of time. We pick to order, which means we don’t rely on large refrigerated storage. We create no waste—everything is composted to nourish new growth—and nothing we sell comes in plastic packaging.
We farm without tilling or turning the soil, locking carbon in the ground. We focus on feeding the soil to support rich biodiversity around us. We don’t offset our carbon—we simply don’t need to.
Freshly Picked
Fresh is best. That’s why we hand-pick your flowers to order. They’re harvested just a day or so before they reach you, so they last much longer in your vase.
Our postal bouquets travel with the stems wrapped in damp fabric, keeping them hydrated and as fresh as possible on the journey.
Healthy Soil
Soil is extraordinary.
We casually call it mud or dirt, yet soil is a complex, living system teeming with millions of organisms. Healthy, thriving soil produces healthy, thriving plants—whether food or flowers.
That’s why we’re committed to keeping our soil as happy and intact as possible. The first principle is simple: leave it alone. For generations, farmers have ploughed and gardeners have dug, believing that light, fluffy soil would make it easier for roots to grow. In reality, turning the soil destroys its delicate structure.
So we practise No-Dig. Each year we simply spread a thick layer of nutrient-rich compost on the surface and let nature do the mixing.
Equally important, we never use compost that contains peat. Peat is a finite resource and one of the most effective natural tools we have for locking away carbon—far more efficient than forests. It belongs in the ground, not in bags of compost. Ours is entirely peat-free, made from waste materials from the biogas and forestry industries.
Chemical Free
Most mass-produced cut flowers rely heavily on chemicals—fertilizers, pesticides, pest control and preservatives. These substances can harm surrounding ecosystems and pose risks to our health when we handle the blooms.
Beautiful flowers can instead be grown without chemicals by following organic principles. The foundation is working with nature: nourishing the soil so it nourishes the plants, creating habitats for beneficial insects that prey on pests, and fostering a natural balance.
